ACHS Faculty Awards

Do you have a favorite faculty member who deserves recognition? Has a faculty member gone above-and-beyond your expectations? As a faculty member, have you excelled in service to the college?  

The ACHS Faculty Awards Program is the perfect opportunity to acknowledge the commitment and accomplishments of our distinguished faculty! 

The following annual awards are announced at the ACHS Virtual Graduation Ceremony each fall:

 

Rising Star Award

The Rising Start Award is an administration-nominated award to honor an instructor in their first year of teaching with ACHS who has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in supporting ACHS students. 

Award recipient receives a Certificate of Achievement and $500 honorarium to use for continuing education opportunities related to his or her area(s) of expertise at ACHS including workshop, conference or seminar fees and related travel expenses. 

2015 Recipient: Nancy Poznak, BPTS, MS, CHES, WWS, CPT, GFI 

2016 Recipient: Santiago Lorenzo, BA, MS, PhD

 

Distinguished Teaching Award 

This is a student-nominated award given to two faculty members who have gone above and beyond in the classroom(s) to motivate, mentor, and engage students as well as promote engagement with their peers.

Award recipients receive Certificate of Achievement and $1000 honorarium to use for continuing education opportunities related to his or her area(s) of expertise at ACHS including workshop, conference or seminar fees and related travel expenses. 

2015 Recipients: Shawn Hallum, AS, BS, MS and Scott Stuart, LAC, BS, MACOM

2016 Recipients: Libby Bennett, BS, MA and Bonnie Wickwire, ND, DC

 

Distinguished Faculty Award

This award is self-, peer- and/or administration-nominated award honoring a faculty member who has excelled in service to ACHS including, but not limited to: instructing and supporting students, conducting webinars, participating in curriculum development, excelling at the use of technology in classrooms, and participating in other academic activities that support the institution and its students and graduates.

Award recipient receives commemorative plaque and $1500 honorarium to use for continuing education opportunities related to his or her area(s) of expertise at ACHS including workshop, conference or seminar fees and related travel expenses. 

2015 Recipient: Oleg Maksimov, BS, MPH, PhD

2016 Recipient: Amanda Lattin, BA, MAT, Dip. Aroma., MH, RA

 

Annual Nominations

Nominations are due in September each year and award recipients are announced at the ACHS Virtual Graduation Ceremony. The nomination period for 2016 is now closed. Please check back for information about 2017 nominations.
