FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Portland, OR— May 27, 2014—Essential oil expert and American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS) Founder and President Dorene Petersen will be presenting her new research on 2014-15 U.S. industry trends in the aromatherapy and essential oil sectors at the upcoming Asian Aroma Ingredients Congress & Expo (AAIC2014) in Kunming, China, July 8-10, 2014. Petersen is a clinical aromatherapy expert and educator with more than 35 years of experience in the aromatherapy and holistic health industry.

“The aromatherapy and essential oil industry is growing rapidly and gaining credibility in China,” says Petersen. “The AAIC has worked tirelessly to encourage a quality and sustainable Chinese botanical and aroma industry, and China is a valuable resource for essential oils. It’s exciting to explore and show how the U.S. aromatherapy trends data—particularly increasing retail sales in the US organic essential oils sector—can potentially impact the growth of environmentally sustainable, organic practices in China and also identify industry recognized training opportunities in the Chinese clinical and retail aromatherapy markets.”

Petersen’s lecture will cover a detailed survey of the latest aromatherapy trends in the U.S, including a review of the top 10 essential oils currently being used by Professional Aromatherapists in the U.S. Petersen’s research review will include which of the top 10 essential oils are currently produced in China and influential for aromatherapists working in the Chinese market. She will also present data on the recent rise in retail sales of certified organic essential oils in the U.S. as well as the significance of essential oil quality, such as the importance of non-adulterated, certified organic oils. Petersen will be presenting her research on the second day of the congress, July 9, 2014.

The AAIC2014 will mark the third convention since it’s first in 2010. The event and expo will be held at the Wyndham Hotel in Kunming City, Yunnan Province, China. The theme of the convention is “Strengthening Asian resources through research and business convergence for a sustainable aroma industry,” and will feature expert lecturers from around the globe speaking on essential oil sustainability, flavor and fragrance market trends, the Asian essential oil market, and more.
