Renee Long joined the ACHS communications team in October 2013 and began teaching critical thinking and writing for ACHS in September 2014. She was born and raised on the New Jersey Shore where she fell in love with the sea and oceanside boardwalks. She earned a BA in English from Palm Beach Atlantic University and an MFA in Creative Writing from Florida Atlantic University.
Renee loves finding new ways to communicate and tell stories, especially when she can write about holistic methods that can bring others wholeness and total healing. She is fascinated by the abilities of social media technology to help spread important information, and she is excited to connect with ACHS students and the community through teaching, social networking, and digital media. She is a frequent contributor to the ACHS Health and Wellness blog (http://info.achs.edu/blog/author/renee-long) and is the Blog Editor and regular contributor for Ruminate Magazine (http://www.ruminatemagazine.com/blog/).
In Portland, Renee takes advantage of all the delicious food and moments where she can drive out to the awe-inspiring Oregon Coast. Her perfect day includes her best friends around a campfire on the beach, a warm mug of tea, and her journal.
