Dr. Valerie Delleville has nearly 20 years of online higher education experience in program development, teaching, strategic partnerships, enrollment management, student retention, competency-based education (CBE), prior learning assessment (PLA), and sustainable change management.
Most recently, Valerie was Associate Dean of Business Core and Microcredentials in the College of Business (COB) at Western Governors University. At WGU, she led the launch of COB’s first microcredentials and undergraduate business core – serving over 32,000 full-time students. Prior to joining WGU, Valerie was the Council for Adult & Experiential Learning’s (CAEL) Director of Higher Education, serving as a subject matter expert on adult student success at institutions across North America. While at CAEL, she developed and delivered trainings, workshops, and keynote addresses on evaluation, serving adult learners, workforce partnerships, enrollment, retention, CBE, PLA, and serving veteran & military students. At Drexel University, Valerie was tapped by Drexel Online’s president to launch its first department focused on online student retention and recovery, where she led the department to profitability in its first term of operations. Additionally, Delleville held leadership roles in student experience, enrollment services and strategic partnerships for more than a decade in Philadelphia at Drexel Online and Keller Graduate School of Management.
Dr. Delleville holds a dual Bachelor of Science in psychology and business administration from the University of Pittsburgh. She studied abroad in Japan, China, Vietnam, Malaysia, India, Kenya, South Africa, Brazil and Cuba through Semester at Sea. Valerie graduated with her MBA and graduate certificate in Human Resource Management from Keller Graduate School of Management, and both a Master of Science in Higher Education and Doctor of Education from Drexel University. An authentic lifelong learner, Valerie earned a certificate in advanced executive communications skills from Harvard University (2014), a certificate in advanced negotiations skills from University of Notre Dame (2018), an executive certificate in VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) Leadership from Cornell University (2020), and she is certified by the Human Capital Institute as a Leadership Development & Succession Strategist.
Valerie serves as Chair of the Association of Continuing Higher Education west board of directors, and she regularly publishes and presents about higher education innovation to both regional and national audiences. In her spare time, Valerie enjoys white water rafting and international travel, where she has visited 46 countries to date.
