SPA 367 provides spa managers and other spa professionals with the financial management skills they need to succeed. This course includes payroll accounting, inventory, income statements, ratio analysis, pricing, menu engineering, operations budgeting, revenue management, cash management, capital budgeting, lease accounting, and business plan development.
Identify and describe generally accepted accounting principles, the accounting cycle, and the purpose of the Uniform System of Financial Reporting for Spas.
Describe the elements of a spa’s compensation plan and the importance of containing payroll costs.
List and differentiate between spa inventory systems and the methods to monitor them.
Calculate and explain the ratios commonly used in the spa industry and discuss the limitations of their analysis.
Identify common approaches to pricing spa products and services.
Explain how to use revenue management, budgeting techniques, and financial statements to evaluate business performance.
Discuss the need for business plans and outline the information required for a spa’s positioning statement.
