Military Spouse Resources

American College of Healthcare Sciences appreciates the efforts and sacrifices spouses and dependents of military men and women must make as their serviceperson works to protect the freedoms of this nation. Many military families face the challenges of maintaining a home and working while their service member is deployed. To help military spouses and dependents attain more for themselves and their families, ACHS offers many resources to help support them in their educational journey.

ACHS is committed to supporting the spouses and dependents of our active duty and veteran students while they pursue their educational and career goals.

Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MYCAA)

MyCAA provides financial assistance to military spouses pursuing degrees, licenses, or credentials leading to employment in Portable Career Fields. Eligible military spouses can receive up to $4,000 in financial assistance to be used for education and training programs, tuition, and licensing/credentialing fees, including Associates, Bachelors, and Masters programs. MyCAA can also be used for course books and supplies needed for the participant’s chosen profession.

You can apply for MyCAA if you are the spouse of a service member on active duty in pay grades E-1 to E-5, W-1 to W-2, and O-1 to O-2, and you can start and complete your coursework while your spouse is on Title 10 military orders. This includes spouses married to members of the National Guard and reserve components in these same pay grades.

How to Establish a MYCAA Account

To get started, military spouses should visit the MyCAA Spouse Portal online and provide the required information. A real-time eligibility check will confirm if you meet MyCAA eligibility requirements. Once confirmed, you can move forward and establish your MyCAA account, create your Goal and Education & Training Plan, and request financial assistance for your course of study.
