Lauren holds an MS in Writing from Portland State University, where she focused on nonfiction writing, editing, and publishing, in addition to a BA in English, with a minor in Education, from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Lauren has been an ACHS faculty member since 2008 and serves as the ACHS Dean of English. In addition to developing and teaching the College writing courses, including ENG 101: English Composition I and ENG 201: English Composition II, Lauren provides writing support to faculty and students across departments, including writing evaluation, writing strategies, and time management strategies for writing assessments.
Before joining ACHS, Lauren previously worked in publishing and has several years' experience as a professional editor and writer, including developing writing curricula for students with diverse experience, learning preferences, and skills. While completing her degree at PSU, Lauren had an appointment as a Writing Consultant in the PSU Writing Center, including person-to-person writing support to undergraduate and graduate students, and leading course-specific writing workshops by special arrangement.
