FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Portland, OR—October 28, 2014—“Since starting my degree [in Complementary Alternative Medicine], I have been able to mentor many people (including my family) in the use of essential oils,” says Tammy Shick Olsen, a 12-year veteran of the United States Air Force and a graduate of the ACHS Associate of Applied Science in Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM) and current student in the ACHS Master of Science in Complementary Alternative Medicine degree program.

Olsen’s childhood dream was to be a pilot. She fulfilled that dream by flying the KC-135R and the TG-10B/C during her time in the Air Force. After adopting two children from Peru, Olsen began to look for another career she could love—something that would fit with her family goals and allow her to focus on being a mom. “While looking online for a graduate program, I came across ACHS and was amazed at how the degree fell in line with what I wanted to do,” Olsen says. “My VA benefits transferred easily to the school, and the ACHS advisors have helped me use my VA benefits.”

ACHS makes it easy for U.S. Armed Forces servicemembers, military spouses, and veterans to maximize their education benefits and invest in their future with degree programs and career training in holistic health, and was recently named a 2015 Military Friendly® School by Victory Media, Inc. for the sixth year in a row in recognition of the institution’s initiatives to support military students and spouses.

“Providing military benefits for servicemembers and their families to reach their dreams in holistic health is a top priority for our institution,” says ACHS Founder and President Dorene Petersen. “I am honored to have military students like Tammy Olsen attend our school. U.S. servicemen and women have made tremendous sacrifices for our protection and freedom. We are privileged to be a Military Friendly® School, and we will continue to uphold our mission to support military students. We hope to continue to exceed expectations.”

Victory Media’s Military Friendly® Schools list features schools that represent the top tier of institutions with leading opportunities for military service members and spouses. The Military Friendly® Schools list is published annually in G.I. Jobs, Military Spouse, and Vetrepreneur magazines. You can read the full list on their website here: http://militaryfriendly.com/school-list.
