FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Portland, OR—May 31, 2016—American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS) announces select masters-level alumni are now eligible to sit for the prestigious Diplomate of the American Clinical Board of Nutrition board exam, leading to the DACBN credential.

Graduates of the ACHS Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition program or the Graduate Certificate in Holistic Nutrition, who also hold a clinical doctorate degree (i.e., DC, ND, MD, DO, DDS) are qualified as eligible to sit for the ACBN examination leading to the Diplomate of the American Clinical Board of Nutrition (DACBN), formerly the American Chiropractic Board of Nutrition.

The ACBN is a professional certifying organization founded in 1986 to serve the public interest through education, examination, experience, and ethics requirements. ACBN is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and is the only nutrition-specific certifying agency to offer Diplomate status to all professionals in the healthcare field (http://www.acbn.org/index.html).

ACHS is committed to partnering with organizations like ACBN to further advance the professionalization of the holistic nutrition industry via quality education opportunities and ethical standards of practice. In so doing, the college also works to ensure clear career pathways for healthcare and holistic nutrition professionals, as well as increased consumer access to reliable, affordable health and wellness solutions.

“ACHS graduates with the DACBN credential gain important professional recognition and validation of their education, knowledge, and expertise,” says Dorene Petersen, ACHS president and founder. “It’s an excellent opportunity for them to further build their professional reputation in the holistic nutrition community, to demonstrate their commitment to the integrity and credibility of the field, and to safely share their knowledge by promoting the highest standards of ethical practice.”
