Assessment and Integration of Research Online

Overview

This graduate-level course gives students a solid theoretical understanding of research designs, statistical evaluation methods, and the presentation and implications of study findings. Students locate, assess, and integrate sources into academic writing. Students develop an understanding of what constitutes Masters-level writing so they can apply this understanding throughout their graduate program.

Learning Outcomes

Differentiate between research designs and data analyses in order to identify which are best used when investigating particular research questions.
Formulate thesis and purpose statements for research related to their field of study in order to advance or fill a gap in existing research.
Evaluate research from scholarly and credible professional sources in order to synthesize results.
Produce writing appropriate for a graduate-level research paper using APA format to model academic writing standards.
Integrate sources within academic writing to maintain academic and professional integrity.

Admissions Requirements:

Candidates must possess a baccalaureate degree or higher from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education. Candidates must submit official transcripts directly from the issuing institution along with one professional letter of recommendation. All applicants must be recommended for admission by the ACHS Admissions Committee.
