New Partnerships for Workforce Development

American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS) Launches Initiative to Foster Partnerships for Workforce Development and Well-being

Portland, OR – July 3, 2024 – American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS), a leader in holistic health online education, is pleased to announce the launch of a new initiative aimed at building corporate partnerships to address the multifaceted challenges faced by employers in today’s rapidly evolving workforce. This strategic move aligns with ACHS’s mission to lead the advancement of evidence-based, integrative health and wellness education through experiential online learning and sustainable practices.

Employers worldwide face unprecedented challenges in recruiting, retaining, and upskilling their employees. According to a study by Boston Consulting Group (BCG), an estimated 1.3 billion employees globally – and 56 million in the United States – have competencies that are misaligned with the work they perform. Moreover, the half-life of skills has dropped to less than five years, emphasizing the need for continuous, lifelong learning to keep pace with innovation.

ACHS recognizes the critical role that higher education institutions can play in addressing these challenges by offering flexible, industry-aligned educational programs. Through this initiative, ACHS seeks to collaborate with employers to develop comprehensive solutions that not only bridge the skills gap but also promote employee well-being and overall organizational success.

These solutions include tuition reimbursement programs, which have been shown to generate positive ROI for employers and increase employee retention. Studies by the Lumina Foundation have found that employees participating in tuition assistance programs are more likely to be promoted and less likely to leave their current jobs. ACHS aims to support employers in implementing and promoting these programs to their workforce.

Additionally, ACHS will work with corporate partners to develop tailored corporate training programs and modify curricula to meet specific industry needs. By leveraging the expertise of ACHS faculty and industry leaders, these programs will ensure that employees are equipped with the most relevant and up-to-date skills for their roles.

“Our holistic approach to education goes beyond just bridging the skills gap,” said Dr. Tiffany Rodriguez, Chief Academic Officer at ACHS. “By incorporating integrative health and wellness principles into our partnerships, we aim to support not only the professional development of employees but also their overall well-being. This, in turn, contributes to increased productivity, job satisfaction, and organizational success.”

ACHS offers a range of programs in aromatherapy, herbal medicine, integrative health, and nutrition, from certificates and micro-credentials to associate, diploma, bachelor’s, master’s, and even doctoral degrees. Through strategic partnerships, the college aims to align its educational offerings with the evolving needs of the workforce, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of their chosen industries.
