Lorraine Young, Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, is an accomplished Naturopathic Doctor with 25 years of experience in integrative medicine and education. She embodies the philosophy of “Doctor as Teacher” in her practices and teaching by seamlessly blending evidence-based research with time-honored traditional healing practices.

Dr. Young’s career has taken her from pioneering naturopathic practices in Nova Scotia to serving as Executive Director at the Naturopathic Medicine Institute in Spokane, where she developed strategic educational initiatives and fostered organizational growth. Her commitment to advancing naturopathic medicine extends to her active involvement in professional organizations, including serving on the Legislative Committee for the North Carolina Association of Naturopathic Physicians, where she engages with policymakers to shape healthcare policies. She has previously served on the boards of both the Homeopathic Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the Colchester Sexual Assault Center.

Not only does Dr. Young excel in her practice, but she is also an accomplished athlete who has earned multiple course records as a competitive runner. Her achievement in securing a spot on the USA Mountain Running Team exemplifies her dedication to personal excellence and deep connection with nature. This intimate understanding of health and human performance enhances her approach to healing, as she recognizes the profound therapeutic relationship between our health and our environment.

Currently based in Raleigh, NC, Dr. Young specializes in supporting midlife women through individualized care, monthly live events, and speaking engagements. Her evidence-based expertise spans multiple disciplines, including herbal medicine, homeopathy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, nutrition and lifestyle.

Beyond her professional work, Dr. Young remains committed to community well-being through active engagement in service, including managing youth sports teams, where she developed and implemented comprehensive organizational systems.

Her ongoing pursuit of new advances and hypotheses in health science, balanced by her deep appreciation for nature’s healing wisdom, creates a truly integrated approach to wellness that bridges the gap between modern medicine and traditional healing arts.
