Janet Ludwig, Ph.D., is the Dean of Integrative Health and Nutrition and Doctoral Studies at ACHS. Dr. Ludwig was awarded her Ph.D. and Master of Science degree in Biochemistry and Nutrition from the University of Arizona. Subsequently, she was at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio as a postdoctoral fellow in cardiovascular disease research and assistant professor in the department of pathology. While there, she received a Research Career Development Award from NIH and was funded by the American Heart Association. Her academic and research interests lie in determining and improving the molecular and cellular mechanisms of inflammatory diseases, such as arthritis, allergies, and damage resulting from ischemic heart conditions.

Dr. Ludwig possesses higher education administrative experience and distance learning knowledge required to lead the Department of Integrative Health and Nutrition.  Prior to this position she was the Director of Education and Doctoral Studies at Hawthorn University, a DEAC online accredited nutrition institution. She was also Dean of Sciences at Sumner College of Health Sciences where she developed and taught science curriculum for nurse anesthetist students.

Dr. Ludwig has the educational and administrative background and real-world experience in research, teaching, and developing curriculum for ACHS based upon her working at the University of Texas Health Science Center,  Hawthorn University, University of Massachusetts Global (formerly Brandman University) and Sumner College of Health Sciences. She had been on the board of directors for the National Association of Nutrition Professionals (NANP)  2016-2021 and is currently a Special Advisor to them.
