Kathryn Swary was hired as the Content Marketing Specialist for ACHS in December of 2023. She earned a Master of Arts degree in Digital Communication and Media Arts from DePaul University, which honed her skills in applying theory and research to design practices and transmedia storytelling.
In her role at ACHS, she helps with content strategy and development to further ACHS’s mission to advance evidence-based, integrative health and wellness education.
Kathryn worked as an event marketer and planner for 10 years at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. During that time, she helped publicize and execute around 100 events annually for faculty, students, staff, alumni, and donors. She has a passion for using creative copywriting and visual design to promote education and healthcare, which led her to ACHS.
Kathryn started her career at the Chicago Sun-Times after graduating from Miami University of Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. She also worked for a private medical practice consisting of over 50 physicians, and a non-profit organization that helped provide better access to primary care in underserved areas around the globe.
After 16 years of living in Chicago, Kathryn moved to Littleton, Colorado with her husband, Pat, and her dog, Greta. She enjoys hiking while listening to audiobooks, movie trivia, and traveling both domestically and internationally. A favorite travel experience was her cross-country honeymoon road trip from Chicago to California and back in an RV.
