A Chicago native, Megan began her career in financial aid as a student worker in the Financial Aid Office in 2003. After earning her degree in Education, she continued in a part-time role while also teaching second grade. With nine years of experience in the classroom, she discovered her true passion—helping students figure out how to finance their dream of a higher education degree.
Inspired to educate students about the financial aid process, she aimed to help them explore their funding options with confidence. By understanding the resources available, students felt empowered and excited to begin their educational journey. The mission at ACHS—to support students holistically from application to graduation and beyond—resonated with her. She was especially drawn to the institution’s unique programs, which are not commonly found at other schools.
Having worked with many first-generation college students, she understands the uncertainty they often feel about pursuing higher education. Through personalized meetings and discussions about financial aid, she helps them gain confidence in their ability to earn a degree. Watching these students grow and eventually walk across the stage to receive their diploma remains one of the most rewarding aspects of her work.
Bringing strong communication skills and a compassionate approach, she takes the time to understand each student’s unique story. Her goal is to provide personalized guidance and ensure every student feels comfortable, supported, and well-informed throughout the financial aid process at ACHS. She remains a dedicated resource, always encouraging students to reach out with questions along their educational journey.
With a background in education, she takes pride in the impact she has had both as a teacher and a financial aid advisor. Her years in the classroom helped her develop strong communication and mentoring skills, which she now applies to guiding students toward their academic goals. Balancing her passion for education with her dedication to helping students succeed has been deeply fulfilling.
Place of Study: Megan received both her degrees from Dominican University, River Forest, Illinois.
Educational Background: Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Master of Arts in Education.
