Associate Professor

Sarah is a Michigan native who now resides in Southwest Florida. Her interest in health and wellness began early, and she was first introduced to nutrition while on a pre-med track as an undergraduate. She immediately connected with the field and chose to pursue it further in graduate school. Faculty encouraged her to become a dietitian, recognizing that it would broaden her career options and complement her interest in clinical work.

As her passion for holistic health grew, Sarah sought a career that aligned more closely with her personal philosophy on wellness. She found that alignment in ACHS, which offers a well-rounded, holistic approach that she fully supports.

Throughout her career, Sarah has gained diverse experience that has shaped her professionally. Whether strengthening her clinical, research, or management skills, each role has equipped her with valuable insights and adaptability. As a licensed and registered dietitian, she has a deep clinical background that distinguishes her within the nutrition field. Sarah has successfully merged her expertise in medical nutrition therapy with her passion for holistic health, improving patient outcomes and broadening the scope of care she provides.

Since joining ACHS in 2016, Sarah has consistently taught NUT 308 and has played an active role in enhancing and refining the course over the years. She has seen the course evolve significantly during her tenure.

Among her personal achievements, Sarah counts running two half marathons. Professionally, she is proud of balancing nearly a decade of teaching at ACHS alongside full-time work.

“I enjoy watching the progress my clients make with their health and wellness goals, and realizing their own potential to make their goals a reality. I also really enjoy the students’ excitement over specific course material and the “aha” moments they have with material and concepts.”
