ACHS Announces New Online Instructional Design Librarian

Portland, Ore.—May 31, 2017—Academic Dean of the American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS), Denise Dallmann, ND, MS, announces the appointment of Ashley Ehmig, MLS, as the college’s new Online Instructional Design Librarian.

Ehmig fulfills a new position at ACHS and will collaborate with the college’s instructional design team to further develop its information literacy and library support services. Ehmig will also provide one-on-one student support through the college’s online student success center.

“I am honored to be part of a team that is passionate about providing holistic health education through both online and on-campus education,” says Ehmig. “As a librarian, I am grateful that I am I able to work at a college that allows me to utilize my information literacy and research skills, and interact with passionate, hard-working students daily.”

Ehmig holds a Master of Library Science from Emporia State University and a Bachelor of Science in General Science from the University of Oregon. She has more than seven years’ experience including academic libraries, continuing medical education, and medical archives.

“We are thrilled to have Ashley as our new librarian and to serve on the instructional design team,” says Dallmann. “Her academic background in Library Science and her personal and professional experience with the Canvas Learning Management System, holistic healthcare, and medical education is a perfect fit for ACHS and our students. She has already instituted a weekly, live, online workshop series to help ACHS students further develop and/or refine their academic writing and research skills.”
