Brianna Borders, BS, MS

Quality Assurance Manager

Brianna grew up in California’s Central Valley but has lived the majority of her life in the Pacific Northwest. She studied ecology at the University of Washington and California State University, Chico and then began a career phase focused on wildlife habitat restoration and conservation using native plant-based approaches. She then made a career shift and dedicated ten years to performing analytical testing for Oregon’s regulated cannabis industry.

Brianna’s role at ACHS represents a nexus of science, reverence for plants, and advancing academic knowledge and she is thrilled to apply her botanical and analytical background to a progressive setting focused on healing and student learning.

During her tenure with The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, Brianna played a key role in making native milkweed plant materials more widely available for monarch butterfly conservation efforts.

With a background in ecology, Brianna adeptly pivoted to working as an analytical chemist when an opportunity to join Oregon’s nascent cannabis industry presented itself. Brianna’s master’s thesis research was successfully published in a peer-reviewed journal. She adopted rock climbing as a hobby and now enjoys doing adventurous multi-pitch climbs with her husband, such as Washington’s Beacon Rock.

Brianna has had the honor of conducting native plant surveys in some of the most beautiful places on Earth, including Mt. St. Helens and Nantucket Island. Brianna is excited to apply her conscientiousness to ensuring that ACHS’s students have access to high quality plant materials for their studies.
