Based in Raleigh, NC, Dr. Young specializes in supporting midlife women through individualized care and educational events. Her expertise spans herbal medicine, homeopathy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and nutrition.

As an accomplished runner who earned a spot on the USA Mountain Running Team, her connection to nature and physical wellness enhances her holistic approach to healing.

Lorraine’s inspiration for naturopathic medicine stems from her belief in the body’s healing capacity and treating the whole person. Her “Doctor as Teacher” approach empowers patients by helping them understand health concerns and providing sustainable wellness tools. She was drawn to this field because it aligns with her values of holistic health and preventive care, believing in its potential to transform healthcare by combining traditional wisdom with scientific understanding.

Pioneering naturopathic practices in Nova Scotia shaped Lorraine’s career by establishing integrative medicine in emerging markets. As Executive Director at the Naturopathic Medicine Institute, she developed strategic educational initiatives to expand the field’s reach. Her board service with the Homeopathic Association of Naturopathic Physicians and Colchester Sexual Assault Center broadened her healthcare perspective. Her competitive running career, including the USA Mountain Running Team, deepened her understanding of human performance and environmental connections that inform her holistic approach.

“Education excites me most about working in integrative health. Helping people understand and learn how to take control of their health empowers them to reach their highest potential. I find profound fulfillment in witnessing patients develop the knowledge and confidence to actively participate in their wellness journey.”
