DSC 700

Dissertation Seminar

Overview

This course directs students in the process and development of their dissertation research proposal. It is the first of three courses in planning, implementing, and completing their dissertation. Students will choose their dissertation committee, develop and write their dissertation proposal, and draft the first two chapters in close association with their dissertation chair. Additionally, if the proposed study is to work with human subjects, the student will complete an Institutional Review Board (IRB) form and submit it for approval to the IRB committee. Upon approval of the IRB form and completion of the proposal, the student will present this to their dissertation committee. Upon approval of the proposal, the student will advance to doctoral candidacy.

In this course, students will:

  • Complete the Dissertation Proposal and Approval Form
