Overview

 

This course develops students’ written communication skills with emphasis on understanding the writing process, analyzing readings, and practicing writing for personal and professional applications.

 

Learning Outcomes

  • Demonstrate an effective, active writing style.

  • Apply all of the steps of the writing process.

  • Apply strategies that achieve clarity, organization, and effectiveness in writing.

  • Cite scholarly references in their writing following APA guidelines.

  • Integrate all elements of proper essay structure.

  • Analyze the role of reading and writing in their academic and professional careers.
