English Composition I Online

Overview

This course develops students’ written communication skills with emphasis on understanding the writing process, analyzing readings, and practicing writing for personal and professional applications.

Learning Outcomes

  • Apply all of the steps of the writing process in order to write cohesive paragraphs in an organized essay that supports a well-developed thesis.

  • Apply APA guidelines to cite scholarly sources in order to establish academic integrity. 

  • Demonstrate the ability to compose a descriptive essay for an academic audience.

  • Illustrate the importance of selecting and integrating credible sources in academic and electronic writing forums.

  • Identify and correct sentence errors to avoid common errors in college writing.
