This course builds on lessons learned in English Composition I. In addition to reviewing the writing process, students learn research techniques, citation techniques, documentation formats, and critical analysis of written topics.
Apply research strategies and methods for developing a thesis and locating high-quality information.
Describe and utilize various information sources available for research.
Apply the steps of the writing process and appropriate research and citation methods to write original research papers.
Critique writing in terms of analysis, argument, organization, use of evidence, style, substance, and appropriate research and citation methods.
Discuss what it means to write in a discipline and implement the writing conventions of academic writing.
Review MLA, APA, and Chicago style guides as introduced in Eng 101 and format papers and references correctly as instructed in assignments.
