This graduate level anatomy and physiology course provides a comprehensive survey of the structure and function of the human organ systems with an emphasis on the body as a dynamic community of interdependent parts, rather than as a number of isolated structural units. Graduates will be expected to demonstrate a strong theoretical understanding of anatomy and its relationship to the function of physiology and the principal of complementarity of structure and function. They will also be expected to be able to evaluate, compare, and contrast specific pathological conditions to show clinical connections to each body system along with system interrelationships. Students will review and critically evaluate primary research on various CAM protocols for these pathological conditions and construct appropriate case studies using validated protocols.
A strong theoretical understanding of anatomy and its relationship to the function of physiology and the principal of complementarity of structure and function as measured by objective examinations, essay examinations, projects, and application of principles to case studies.
A solid knowledge base of the anatomy and physiology of the body systems studied, with the ability to evaluate, compare, and contrast selected pathological conditions to show clinical connections to each body system along with system interrelationships as measured by objective examinations, essay examinations, projects, and application of principles to case studies.
The ability to critically evaluate and critique various concepts, approaches, methods, and issues in select areas of anatomy and physiology and the ability to locate, review, and critically evaluate basic and clinical scientific studies examining the use of various CAM protocols for these pathological conditions and construct appropriate case studies using validated protocols as measured by essay examinations and projects and application of principles to case studies.
