Dr. Jimmy Godard was born in Haiti and moved to the U.S. at an early age. His professional journey began as a peak-time teller and advanced to Senior Vice President at Bank of America. With more than 26 years of experience in IT and leadership, he now serves as the Chief Technology Officer for the State of Oregon. Dr. Godard has a deep passion for business, finance, and leadership, and currently speaks, coaches, and trains global leaders to lead with passion and purpose. His mission is to help others realize their leadership potential and leave a lasting legacy.
Dr. Godard joined American College of Healthcare Sciences to teach business and communication, driven by his commitment to equipping future professionals with practical skills and leadership insight. His background in organizational leadership and IT has consistently reinforced the critical role of clear communication and strategic thinking across industries. Through teaching, he shares real-world experiences and motivates students to lead with purpose, passion, and authenticity in their careers.
Starting as a peak-time teller at Bank of America instilled in him a foundation of service and resilience. Rising to Senior Vice President, he led global technology transformations and strategic programs, delivering millions in cost savings and driving innovation. His leadership roles with the Project Management Institute and as President of Global Compass further deepened his passion for mentoring. Each role has shaped his leadership approach—emphasizing purpose, adaptability, and inspiring teams to excel.
He brings a distinctive combination of leadership, strategy, and technology expertise to every team. With over 26 years in global IT and program management, Dr. Godard specializes in enterprise-wide transformations. He is a certified Project Manager and Goal Success Coach with a strong background in change management, communication, and team dynamics. His strength lies in simplifying complexity, fostering collaboration, and empowering others to lead with intention and impact.
Professionally, Dr. Godard takes pride in leading major technology transformations at Bank of America, including generating $33.6 million in savings within three months and launching a global innovation challenge. He also created the “Leadership Compass” framework to help leaders navigate change with purpose, now used widely in workshops and coaching engagements across industries. Personally, he finds fulfillment in coaching youth soccer and leading global service projects in Haiti, Uganda, and Cambodia—efforts that reflect his passion for uplifting communities, empowering teams, and inspiring the next generation of leaders.
