We are proud to recognize one of our newest Adult Scholarship recipients, Kayla Luevano, whose story is a true testament to perseverance, passion, and the power of lifelong learning.
Just months after earning her high school diploma, Kayla took a bold step and enrolled at ACHS to work towards her Diploma in Holistic Health Practice, something she once believed might never happen. As a single mom and pharmacy technician, juggling work, family, and school has been no small feat. Yet her determination and resilience inspire everyone around her. “The impossible is possible,” Kayla shared. “If I am determined, I can do anything.”
Finding Balance and Support at ACHS
Kayla chose ACHS because the school felt welcoming and aligned deeply with her values. Drawn to the holistic health and wellness curriculum, she appreciated the comprehensive courses, the flexibility of online learning, and the strong reputation of ACHS as an accredited institution. From the admissions process, where her advisor offered patience and encouragement, to her experience in the classroom with supportive, knowledgeable professors, she has felt empowered every step of the way.
What Kayla values most about online learning is the balance it offers. The flexibility lets her work and care for her child while maintaining a strong sense of connection with her instructors and peers. She describes the courses as “rich and meaningful” and encourages other students to stay organized, create a study schedule that works, and reach out to instructors for support. “Most importantly, stay connected to your passion,” she says. “That motivation will carry you through.”
Impact of the ACHS Adult Scholarship on Professional Aspirations
Kayla says that receiving this scholarship has been especially meaningful. Beyond helping with tuition and supporting her research in holistic health, it represents encouragement and recognition for her hard work and determination. Growing up without much guidance or support, she sees this scholarship as a symbol that she is not on this journey alone.
Her long-term goals are both ambitious and inspiring. She hopes to open her own integrative health practice, continue her work in the medical field, and ultimately become a Naturopath. Along the way, she is motivated not only by her personal passion but also by her desire to set an example for her daughter about the value of education, perseverance, and following one’s dreams.
Kayla’s story is a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to pursue education and that resilience, determination, and passion can truly turn the impossible into reality.
