This course further integrates anatomy and physiology studies for integrative wellness professionals with a survey of common diseases affecting body systems. Students will develop a foundational knowledge of various diseases affecting the circulatory, cardiovascular, respiratory, excretory, digestive, and reproductive systems and their implications for the body’s ability to maintain homeostasis. Students will explore common conditions’ etiology, signs, and symptoms, and evaluate conventional and integrative support strategies. Students will develop clinical reasoning skills by investigating the clinical correlates and holistic highlights covered in this course and exploring various interventions, including aromatherapy, herbal medicine, holistic nutrition, wellness coaching, and other integrative modalities.
Extend knowledge of anatomy and physiology by exploring the imbalances of the circulatory, cardiovascular, respiratory, excretory, digestive, and reproductive systems.
Identify the causes, signs, and symptoms of common diseases affecting the circulatory, cardiovascular, respiratory, excretory, digestive, and reproductive systems.
Recognize integrative care modalities to support circulatory, cardiovascular, respiratory, excretory, digestive, and reproductive imbalances.
Develop critical reasoning to suggest appropriate integrative health support for system imbalances.
Determine when to refer a client to a licensed care provider.
