This course explores the holistic integration of aromatherapy into mental wellness routines, emphasizing the safe and effective use of essential oils to support emotional resilience, mental clarity, stress relief, and sleep. Students will learn the principles of holistic health, understand how essential oils interact with the brain and body, evaluate scientific research, and practice creating simple, personalized aromatherapy strategies. The course incorporates foundational knowledge from herbalism and nutrition to present a whole-person approach to mental well-being.
Explain the principles of a holistic approach to mental wellness and the role of aromatherapy.
Identify common essential oils and their reported effects on mood, stress, anxiety, and sleep.
Apply principles of aromatherapy to create simple stress-relief or relaxation routines.
Evaluate the scientific evidence and limitations of using essential oils for mental and emotional wellness.
Demonstrate safe handling and usage techniques for essential oils (e.g. dilution, diffusion).
Design a personalized aromatherapy plan for a specific mental wellness goal (such as improving sleep or stress and anxiety management).
