Project management is an important component of many of today’s most rewarding professions. This important discipline makes it possible to achieve organizational goals in a broad array of fields within the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. This course provides students with a deep understanding of project management by introducing processes in combination with behavioral and technical tools to effectively plan, manage, and implement projects. In this course, students will be exposed to a range of applications and will have the opportunity to develop a project through several stages of implementation.
Demonstrate an understanding of the value, relevance, and broad application of developing project management competencies.
Analyze a project environment and develop a plan to achieve project milestones, addressing potential risks and obstacles.
Apply techniques for addressing management challenges related to project administration.
Develop and apply leadership skills for planning and control of projects in the context of an organization with a commitment to sustainable practices across the value chain.
Identify and apply key leadership, team process, and project management concepts and the ability to relate them to current global business realities through a lens of sustainable practices.
Demonstrate the effective use of widely accepted tools including project scheduling techniques, planning and tracking controls, and effective resource allocation.
