HLTH 201 provides students with a strong foundation for more advanced studies in natural health and holistic wellness. Learners will gain a solid understanding of the importance of exercise, nutrition, emotional/mental health, social and interpersonal/intimate relationships, drug/alcohol awareness, physical fitness routines, disease prevention, chronic illness and other important concepts. This course is designed to help students make physical activity a priority today and continue to do so throughout their lives.
Explain key concepts of health, wellness, and physical activity to build a foundational understanding of factors that influence overall well-being.
Assess personal fitness and health behaviors using appropriate tools and self-evaluations to increase awareness of current habits and areas for improvement.
Analyze factors that influence health, including lifestyle behaviors, environment, and disease risk, to better understand how these factors impact long-term health outcomes.
Formulate short- and long-term goals for personal health and wellness to support realistic, meaningful behavior change.
Develop a comprehensive personal fitness and wellness plan to promote sustainable health practices and long-term well-being.
