Join Dr. Glen Nagel, ND for this 4-hour continuing education workshop on herbal compounding and formulating for clinical cases. Upon completion, you’ll be able to:
- Discuss the why and how of custom herbal formulating for practitioners.
- Define best practices for formulating herbal tinctures.
- Apply the art of herbal formulation for clinical cases.
- Demonstrate the potential herbal incompatibilities in combining tinctures.
Part 1: Herbal Compounding and Formulation Do’s and Don’ts (2 hours)
Learn best practices for creating therapeutic herbal formulas and compounding herbal tinctures. Dr. Nagel will cover the do’s and don’ts for mixing herbal extracts, including common questions about alcohol content and other solvents and herbal constituents such as alkaloids, tannins and terpenes. You’ll gain confidence in how to apply your botanical expertise to make an herbal tincture formula for wellness.
Part 2: Hands-on Practice: Creating Herbal Formulas for Clinical Cases
The next two hours provide hands-on, practical training on creating therapeutic herbal tincture formulas. This workshop will provide an opportunity and supervision to create herbal formulas for specific clinical cases. You’ll apply your herbal expertise and gain insights to expand your herbal formulary experience.

This CE course is designed for licensed professionals, caregivers, and other healthcare and wellness professionals. This course may provide CE hours toward requirements to maintain state licensing requirements; approvals are listed below.
