Career growth can be exciting—but it can also come with uncertainty, pressure, decision-making, job-search stress, and the challenge of balancing school, work, and personal well-being.
Join ACHS Career Services for an interactive wellness experience designed to help students pause, reset, and develop practical strategies for navigating career-related stress.
Led by ACHS graduate student and wellness professional Sarah Sampeck, this session will combine mindfulness, breathwork, sound bowls, rhythm/drumming, gentle wellness practices, and career-focused reflection. Students will have an opportunity to step away from the pressure of their to-do lists and explore simple techniques they can use to create moments of calm and greater awareness during their academic and professional journeys.
Rather than simply talking about stress management, students will experience several wellness techniques firsthand and identify the practices that resonate most with them.
By the end of the webinar, attendees will be able to:
- Recognize common sources of career-related stress, including job searching, career uncertainty, interviews, academic pressure, and major career transitions.
- Practice simple mindfulness and breathing techniques they can use before an interview, networking conversation, presentation, or challenging workday.
- Experience sound-based relaxation through a guided sound-bowl activity designed to encourage stillness and relaxation.
- Explore rhythm and drumming as an engaging wellness activity that encourages presence, participation, and a break from mental overthinking.
- Identify personal stress signals and recognize when they may need to pause, reset, or practice self-care.
- Create a personal “career calm toolkit” with several strategies they can incorporate into their daily routine.
- Learn how to intentionally create moments of calm during their job search and career development, rather than waiting until they feel overwhelmed.
- Leave with a renewed sense of connection between personal well-being and career development.
