ACHS Honors 2017 Faculty Award Winners

ACHS’s 2017 Faculty Award winners honored by college administration, students, graduates, and community during live-streamed Virtual Graduation ceremony.

Portland, Ore.—December 1, 2017American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS) honored its 2017 Faculty Award winners—Dr. Jacqui McGrath, Abbey Skinner, Catrina Mianecki, Nicole Betschman, and Deryl Gulliford—during the college’s live Virtual Graduation ceremony October 26, 2017. ACHS Faculty Awards are administered by academic dean, Denise Dallmann, M.S., N.D., and recognize faculty whose service continually demonstrates innovation and/or goes above and beyond expectations.

“Our faculty award winners have worked tirelessly to help our students achieve their educational and professional goals, answer questions with expertise and patience, and provide daily encouragement, support and feedback,” says Denise Dallmann, ACHS academic dean. “I am pleased to be able to recognize their dedication, commitment, and service to our students. On behalf of ACHS staff, faculty and students, I would like to thank not only our award winners but also all of our talented and dedicated faculty.”

The 2017 ACHS Rising Star Award winner is Dr. Jacqui McGrath. This award honors a professor in their first two years of teaching with ACHS. Professors are nominated by college administration and have demonstrated a commitment to excellence in supporting students and the institution. The Distinguished Teaching Award is nominated by ACHS students and graduates and honors professors who have gone above and beyond in the classroom to motivate, mentor, and engage students. The 2017 Distinguished Teaching Award winners are:

The 2017 ACHS Distinguished Faculty Award winner is Deryl Gulliford. This award is nominated by college administration, faculty, staff, and students, and honors a professor who has excelled in service including, but not limited to: instructing and supporting students, conducting webinars, participating in curriculum development, excelling at the use of technology in classrooms, and participating in other academic activities that support the institution and its students and graduates.
