OMED, hosted annually by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), is the premier event for osteopathic medicine, bringing together thousands of osteopathic physicians, medical students, and health professionals. The conference is known for its broad spectrum of educational tracks and networking opportunities. This year’s conference, held from September 20-22, showcased groundbreaking research, clinical advancements, and educational opportunities across multiple specialties, fostering meaningful connections and collaborations within the osteopathic community.
The Journal of Osteopathic Medicine Innovations Research Award recognizes articles documenting outcomes research related to new concepts in patient management or medical education delivery. Dr. Lorenzo’s work highlights innovative approaches that bridge traditional osteopathic treatment with cutting-edge therapeutic modalities, positioning him at the forefront of integrative healthcare research.
Dr. Lorenzo and his research team were recognized for their article titled, “Effect of osteopathic manipulative treatment and Bio-Electro-Magnetic Energy Regulation (BEMER) therapy on generalized musculoskeletal neck pain in adults.” This groundbreaking study investigated the individual and combined effects of osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) and BEMER therapy on patients suffering from neck pain. Dr. Lorenzo expressed, “I feel honored and humbled to receive such a prestigious award. This motivates me to continue to conduct research to find innovative ways to help patients with generalized pain.”
