Cost of Attendance

The cost of attendance used at ACHS includes estimates of students’ expenses for housing & food, books, course materials, supplies, equipment, transportation and personal expenses, along with tuition and fees to determine eligibility for financial aid each academic year. Amounts for cost of attendance components can be found in the link below.

Borrow responsibly!
Borrowing responsibly includes borrowing only what you need to pay your education expenses AND what you can realistically afford to repay when you leave school. In order to minimize your student loan debt, ACHS strongly encourages all students to borrow only as much as they need to cover course tuition and materials.

Qualifying students may also be eligible to take advantage of Loan Deferment & Tax Credits.

Estimate Your Financial Aid Package

Even before you begin the financial aid process, you can start to estimate our financial aid package and plan for estimated monthly payments upon graduation using tools provided by the U.S. Department of Education. ACHS wants to help you borrow responsibly, and these calculators are a great place to start!

When your application has been processed, you’ll receive an official financial aid award letter that details your award package for review prior to starting studies.

Step 1: Determine the projected maximum cost for your program by clicking HERE.

Step 2: Determine your maximum loan eligibility per academic year (two semesters) by reviewing the federal Graduate and Undergraduate limits HERE.

Step 3: Estimate your monthly payments and repayment period under various repayment plans by using the repayment calculator found HERE.

Please note that these resources are provided as a tool for you to estimate your financial aid award package. Final awards are available following completion of the FAFSA and submission of all required application and verification documents.

Textbook Information - Book Advance Stipend

International Standard Book Number (ISBN) and retail price information for required textbooks is located on each course homepage. Courses can be accessed by clicking on https://achs.edu/academics, selecting the appropriate program, and clicking on the applicable course.

Students using federal financial aid who elect to purchase their own textbooks may be eligible to receive a books advance stipend. In order to be eligible for the advance, you must have sufficient financial aid to cover semester charges and the book advance amount, be registered for the upcoming semester, and meet ACHS’s Standards of Satisfactory Academic Progress. (Please note that not all types of financial aid are eligible to receive a book advance, and past due debts may make you ineligible for an advance.)

A book advance is a portion of your awarded financial aid that is advanced to you to purchase your books. Book advances are not free and they are NOT additional financial aid.

In order to opt-in to the Book Advance stipend, please complete the Book Advance Request Form. By not submitting the Book Advance Request form, you are voluntarily opting out of this program. If you opt-in to the Book Advance program, you will be contacted by a member of the Financial Aid Department to discuss the amount and timeline for issuing of funds.

Students must opt-in to the Book Advance by the end of the first week of each semester.

National Student Loan Data System

Please note that any loan borrowed by the student or parent will be submitted to the National Student Loan Database System (NSLDS), and will be accessible by guaranty agencies, lenders, and schools determined to be authorized users of the data system.

Students can view their borrowing history by logging into their account at studentaid.gov.
