ACHS Sponsors 27th American Herbalists Guild Symposium

Portland, OR—September 27, 2016Herbalists and holistic health practitioners from across the globe will travel to Seven Springs, Pennsylvania to attend the 27th Annual American Herbalists Guild (AHG) Symposium from September 29 through October 3, 2016. American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS)—an accredited online college with certificate, diploma, and degree programs in herbal medicine—is a Silver Leaf sponsor of the Symposium.

Herbal medicine is a rapidly growing modality. With more and more people using herbal remedies as a health support, there is an increased demand for sound research, education, and quality practitioners. According to the AHG, the Symposium will “host some of the world’s leading herbal educators delivering cutting edge presentations on a wide range of topics in herbal medicine.”

The Symposium will feature a keynote address from renowned herbalist Phyllis Hogan on the burgeoning discipline of ethnobotany (the study of customs of traditional cultures concerning plants and their medicinal, spiritual, and cultural uses). There will also be lectures on herbs for migraines, cannabis as a treatment for Lyme disease, how to safely combine herbs and pharmaceuticals, and more.

ACHS is a Silver Leaf sponsor of the event, and has gifted five Symposium registration scholarships to promising holistic health students and graduates.
