American College of Healthcare Sciences AAS in CAM Graduate Inga Wieser Awarded 2018 DEAC Famous Alumni Recognition
Portland, Ore.— May 17, 2018 — Inga Wieser, American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS) graduate and complementary alternative medicine (CAM) practitioner from Leonardtown, MD, has received the DEAC’s 2018 Famous Alumni award.
The DEAC Famous Alumni award celebrates the achievements of distance education students who have demonstrated academic excellence and consistent commitment to society and their chosen profession(s). Wieser’s profile will be published in the 2018 DEAC Outstanding Graduate and Famous Alumni booklet circulated across DEAC-accredited institutions, and she will be invited as a featured speaker at ACHS’s 2018 graduation ceremony in Portland, Ore., on Oct. 12.
“It wasn’t until I was working and speaking in the field that I came to fully appreciate the level of education I received from ACHS, which in turn has helped me rise to the level of recognition in the alternative health field,” Wieser says. Wieser completed her ACHS studies with a 4.0 GPA and Honors designation including an Associate of Applied Science in Complementary Alternative Medicine with Specializations in Herbal Medicine (2012) and Aromatherapy (2013). She has also completed several professional certificates including the Certificate in Wellness Consulting and the Diploma in Aromatherapy Master Aromatherapist.
Wieser currently teaches both herbal medicine and aromatherapy classes at the College of Southern Maryland and has been a guest speaker on CAM for organizations such as the National Psychological Association, the AMEN Clinic in Reston, VA, and several others throughout the Mid-Atlantic states. She has also been asked to work with support groups on CAM strategies at St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown. She is currently the President of the Alliance of International Aromatherapists, collaborates with healthcare professionals in her community, and has developed a unique and genuine “two-way street” approach to the simultaneous use of CAM and mainstream medicine.
