ACHS Strengthens Commitment to Impact Purchasing

American College of Healthcare Sciences Strengthens Commitment to Impact Purchasing

Portland, OR – November 19, 2024 – American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS) is proud to share its efforts to further strengthen its commitment to using business as a force for good through participation in the Portland Impact Purchasing Pilot Program, a 12-month pilot program in partnership with Prosper Portland and Purchasing with Purpose. The Collective shares that this pilot program, planned in cities around the U.S., is “based on the idea that when we shift some of our everyday purchasing to enterprises that are reinvesting their profit into putting people and planet first, we can make our city more inclusive, regenerative and sustainable.”

A Certified B Corp® since 2016, this aim is closely aligned with ACHS’s mission and vision and its nearly 50-year history of promoting sustainability and environmental stewardship. ACHS has been invested in purchasing local, prioritizing organizations with sustainable practices and a dedication to supporting healthy communities. The Impact Purchasing Pilot Program brings together an intentional community of organizations seeking to make an impact through their purchasing practices. Organizations participating in this cohort include American College of Healthcare Sciences, SAP, Port of Portland, and Prosper Portland.

Since joining the Impact Purchasing Pilot in April 2024, ACHS has had the opportunity to expand its purchasing with other Certified B Corps® and purpose-driven organizations like Bridge City Media

ACHS invites mission-driven organizations that share a commitment to sustainability and purchasing with impact to reach out for partnership opportunities. Please contact ACHS President Tracey Abell at [email protected].
