The program covers aromatherapy, teaching you how essential oils can boost mood, promote relaxation, and enhance focus. You’ll also explore herbal formulation, combining herbs to create personalized wellness blends. You will develop and refine recipes, practice nutrient-preserving cooking techniques, and gain essential skills in safe food handling and storage using whole-food ingredients.

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify a diverse range of herbs, essential oils, and whole foods used in crafting remedies for family and community wellness.
  • Explain the principles and practices of herbal and aromatherapy formula-making, and whole food preparations development as they apply to creating remedies for everyday family health concerns.
  • Evaluate the quality, safety, and potential benefits of various herbal preparations, essential oil blends, and nutrient-dense foods for addressing common family health issues.
  • Demonstrate ability to create basic herbal preparations such as teas, tinctures, nutrient-rich meals, salves, and aromatherapy blends using proper techniques, nutritional principles, and safety measures.
  • Develop wellness formulas that integrate herbs, essential oils, and nutrient-dense foods to address specific health goals to support the wellness needs of family members and community groups.
  • Apply sustainable practices in crafting natural remedies, seasonal food practices and daily life to promote holistic well-being.
