This course provides practical guidance for integrating somatic and mindfulness-based techniques into professional and personal contexts. Building on foundational knowledge of somatic and mindfulness modalities, it emphasizes applied leadership, teaching, and program design in somatic and mindfulness practices for individuals, groups, and organizations.
The course complements DSCMH 620 The Science of Somatic and Mindfulness Therapies, which focuses on theoretical foundations, mechanisms, and evidence across Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness (TSM), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing, and Trauma-Informed Yoga.
Here, the focus shifts from meta-level understanding to practice delivery, contextual discernment, ethical leadership, and outcome-informed implementation, building on the foundation in ACHS’s DSCMH 620 The Science of Somatic and Mindfulness Therapies course.
