Portland, Oregon – Stephanie Petersen of Salt Lake City, Utah, will be honored as the Distance Education and Accrediting Commission (DEAC) 2020 Outstanding Graduate at the American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS) virtual graduation ceremony.

The DEAC Outstanding Graduate of the Year award celebrates the achievements of distance education students who have demonstrated academic excellence and consistent commitment to society and their chosen profession.

Primed with double master’s degrees earned online, Stephanie plans to open a clinic and school.

Stephanie Petersen earned two master’s degrees online from the American College of Healthcare Sciences in Herbal Medicine and Holistic Nutrition. She studied online while working full-time as an education administrator and teacher at a massage school. Her education prepared her to teach courses in herbalism and pathology at work.

Stephanie graduated from the American College of Healthcare Sciences with a 4.0 GPA. Her employer recognized her newly acquired expertise in complementary alternative health, and ease with online learning. Stephanie was promoted to Associate Director of Education and Director of the college’s Distance Education Program. She also now serves as the Distance Education Specialist for Stevens-Henager College’s Healthcare Program Advisory Committee.

As an herbalist, Licensed Nutritionist, Licensed Massage Therapist, and yoga instructor, Stephanie will put her enthusiasm and passion for holistic health in motion by opening a unique business that educates and empowers community members with lifestyle diseases to reclaim their health. Her clinic will offer individual sessions and group classes in nutrition, herbs, exercise, and bodywork designed to improve each client’s current health. Stephanie is currently working on a book for those ready to take their healthy diet to the next level by incorporating nutrient-packed, health-promoting edible herbs.

“At ACHS, I developed my writing skills, found my self-confidence as an herbalist, and became qualified to be a licensed nutritionist. The courses, instructors, and administrative staff were all instrumental in my success. I am excited to put my new degrees to work creating my dream business,” says Stephanie Petersen.
