The Holistic Approaches to Mental Wellness Certificate provides a practical, easy-to-understand way to use essential oils, herbs, and nutrition to support mental wellness. This 9-credit, self-paced program offers a practical, evidence-informed approach to supporting stress, anxiety, depression, and PTSD with natural remedies. You’ll learn how to integrate aromatherapy, herbal medicine, and nutrition into daily routines to support mental wellness for yourself and others.

Throughout the program, you’ll explore how body systems, emotional health, and lifestyle factors intersect, and how holistic approaches can be used to promote resilience, support stress reduction, and improve quality of life. You’ll also examine relevant research and practice designing personalized mental wellness plans to build confidence in applying what you learn.

With the flexibility of self-paced learning, you can work through the courses at your own pace while earning credits that contribute to your professional development. This certificate will help you learn how to use essential oils, herbs, and nutrition to help manage common mental health challenges and enhance overall well-being.

  2. Describe how aromatherapy, herbal medicine, and whole-food-based nutrition can be used in integrated into daily routines to support emotional balance and mental well-being by understanding how they influence the body and mind.
  3. Evaluate current research on the effects of plant-based therapies to critically assess their role in managing conditions like stress, anxiety, and mood.
  4. Demonstrate how to safely and effectively use essential oils and herbal remedies to incorporate holistic practices into everyday life for stress and anxiety management and mental clarity.
