Homeopathy involves supporting wellness with minute doses of remedies, which, when taken in larger doses by healthy people are capable of producing symptoms similar to the dis-ease it is supporting. It is based on the natural law of healing “Similia Similibus Curantur,” which means “like cures like”. The principle was understood as far back as 450 BC by Hippocrates, the Greek founder of medicine, and was further developed 1000 years later by Paracelsus, the Swiss alchemist. In the early 19th century, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843) developed and gave Homeopathy the scientific and systematic system as it is practiced today. Homeopathy is readily accepted in Britain and India where it is recognized as part of the National System of Medicine.
This micro-credential leads students through the theories of homeopathy and the uses for low-dose homeopathic remedies available in most health food stores today.
Earners will have a working knowledge of homeopathy as a wellness support tool for personal health and as an adjunct to an integrative health practice. The Integrative Homeopathy Specialist™ badge is automatically issued upon successful completion of the NAT 204 Energetic Modalities II: Homeopathy course or the HOM 501 Homeopathy course. These courses may be taken as a single course or as part of a larger program at ACHS.

State Licensing Information
Please note this micro-credential does not prepare earners to practice medicine; earners are prohibited from claiming to treat diagnose, cure, or prescribe unless otherwise licensed to do so in their state. In some states, homeopathy is defined as the practice of medicine and can only be practiced by a licensed healthcare provider. If you are a licensed healthcare provider, check with your state licensing board or licensing regulations to see whether homeopathy is within your scope of practice. For self-care, the practice of homeopathy is not limited to the professional homeopath or MD.
In other states, particularly states with health freedom legislation in place, homeopaths may be covered under the health freedom legislation. Always check your state’s laws and abide by them.
For licensed medical doctors and osteopathic doctors, the American Board of Homeotherapeutics grants Diplomate (advanced specialty) status (D.Ht.) to those medical and osteopathic physician applicants who meet the prerequisites and successfully pass a written and an oral examination. For licensed physicians, advanced practice nurses, or physician’s assistants, the Board offers a Primary Care Certification Examination of the American Board.
