What skills will I gain in natural products manufacturing?
This program focuses on practical, hands-on skills for creating natural body care and aromatherapy products using herbs and essential oils. You’ll learn formulation basics for lotions, creams, salves, and related products; safe handling and storage of botanicals; and foundational business practices. The emphasis is on product creation for personal use or small-scale manufacturing and building a foundation for advanced study.
Does this program allow me to make and sell natural products?
The program teaches the educational foundations of natural product formulation. Whether and how products may be sold depends on local, state, and federal regulations, as well as individual business decisions. The entrepreneurial skills course included in this program provides resources and a framework for starting your business.
Is a license or certification required to work in natural products manufacturing?
No, a license or certification is not required to enter the field of natural products manufacturing. Employer requirements can vary and of course, there are product requirements such as good manufacturing practices to consider. This program is designed to build foundational knowledge and skills; ACHS programs do not constitute a license to practice or distribute products.
Is this program appropriate if I’m new to herbalism or aromatherapy?
Yes. No prior professional experience is required. Courses are structured to support adult learners and beginners, starting with foundational concepts in integrative health, aromatherapy, and herbal studies before moving into applied formulation and business topics.
