Doctor of Science in Integrative Mental Health & Well-Being

Overview

The Doctor of Science in Integrative Mental Health & Well-Being prepares diverse professionals, including practitioners, educators, and researchers, to support mental health and well-being through integrative, functional, behavioral, and systems-based approaches. The curriculum emphasizes the interaction of biological, psychological, social, environmental, and nutritional factors that influence mental health and well-being across the lifespan.

This innovative, fully online doctoral program brings together the science of well-being, mind-body wellness, somatic and nervous system-informed practices, functional nutrition, lifestyle interventions, and integrative wellness strategies. Students explore how biological, psychological, social, and environmental factors influence mental health while developing the advanced research and leadership skills to translate scientific evidence into meaningful action.

Students also examine neurobiology, psychoneuroimmunology, trauma-informed practice, stress physiology, behavioral change theory, and public health policy while developing advanced research competencies that culminate in applied research and leadership as part of the doctoral dissertation.

In this program, students go beyond understanding mental health challenges and learn to educate and support well-being.

Through experiential learning, applied research, and interdisciplinary study, you’ll develop the expertise to evaluate integrative approaches, design and assess mental wellness programs, and contribute to more person-centered, trauma-informed models of care.

Whether your goal is to enhance your existing professional practice, lead innovative healthcare initiatives, advance organizational and community well-being, or contribute to research, education, and policy, the DSc IMHW prepares you to make an impact across diverse settings.

Graduates can apply their expertise to help healthcare organizations strengthen whole-person care models, guide interdisciplinary wellness initiatives, advance preventive mental health strategies, and develop programs that respond to the evolving needs of the populations they serve.
