Sarah is originally from Martin, Tennessee. She earned a Bachelor of University Studies in Communications and Public Relations from the University of Tennessee at Martin, followed by two master’s degrees—a Master of Science in Criminal Justice and an Executive MBA from Bethel University.

She began her career in higher education through admissions and academic advising roles at institutions such as the University of Phoenix and the University of Tennessee at Martin. From the start, Sarah’s passion has been helping students succeed academically, navigate online learning, and achieve their long-term goals. Early in her career, she saw firsthand how impactful it is to guide students through the challenges of enrollment, retention, and online learning. That experience cemented her commitment to supporting students as they overcome obstacles, gain confidence, and reach their personal and professional milestones.

Over the years, Sarah’s career in higher education has expanded to include student advising, instructional design, and recruitment training. She has overseen student success initiatives, developed courses, and mentored staff, all of which reinforce her dedication to helping students thrive. She brings a strong combination of expertise in student advising, retention strategies, and instructional design to her work. Her background includes guiding large groups of students through enrollment and academic success, creating professional and career development courses, and designing effective training materials for staff. Known for her problem-solving, project management, and communication skills, Sarah supports both students and colleagues effectively. Her experience in mentoring and training new employees also fosters a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment focused on student success.

Professionally, Sarah is proud of developing academic support strategies and training programs that have improved student retention and enhanced team performance. Personally, she takes pride in being a mom and a youth sports coach, earning multiple advanced degrees while balancing a full-time career and family, and pursuing her passion for health and wellness by becoming a certified master trainer and Spartan SGX coach. These accomplishments reflect her dedication to growth, perseverance, and helping others reach their goals.

One of Sarah’s most notable contributions has been designing and implementing professional and career development courses that improve student engagement and retention. She also created comprehensive training materials and onboarding programs for new academic and admissions staff, which increased team efficiency and consistency in student support. Additionally, she has advised over 300 students per semester, providing personalized guidance that boosts retention and academic success. Her efforts have strengthened both the student experience and overall team performance.
